Tapan Mohanty and his son Satyajyoti of Z Estates clinched the team title in the 7th Corporate Golf Tournament, which concluded here at the BGC Course, Chandrasekharpur on today. In the 14-hole stable-ford-format competition, featuring a total of 49 golfers from corporate sector and host Bhubaneswar Golf Club (BGC), the father-son pair got the better of husband-wife duo of Sunil and Alka Taneja, who finished runners-up, representing Field Toyota, Bhubaneswar.
Satyajyoti bagged a double by emerging winner in the 0 to 16 handicap category as well. He, in fact, completed a treble, adding the two titles to the one he won in the individual category earlier yesterday.
State Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik handed over the prizes in the presence of Home Secretary U N Behera; Chief General Manager, SBI; General Manager, Indian Oil; State heads of Aircel, Trident and Galaxy.
Earlier on the opening day, a total of 52 golfers of established corporate houses TATA Steel, Dhamra Port Company, Indian Oil Corporation, Mahanadi Coal Fields (Sambalpur), State Bank of India, Paradip Port Trust, Aircel, TinPlate Company (Jamshedpur), Field Toyota, Arcon, ESSPL, Enmark, Royal Hotels, Z Estate and Golden Anchor participated in the individual competition.
